This program is read by the author, world-renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson.

Bringing his cosmic perspective to civilization on Earth, Neil deGrasse Tyson shines new light on the crucial fault lines of our time—war, politics, religion, truth, beauty, gender, and race—in a way that stimulates a deeper sense of unity for us all.

In a time when our political and cultural views feel more polarized than ever, Tyson provides a much-needed antidote to so much of what divides us, while making a passionate case for the twin chariots of enlightenment—a cosmic perspective and the rationality of science.

After thinking deeply about how science sees the world and about Earth as a planet, the human brain has the capacity to reset and recalibrates life’s priorities, shaping the actions we might take in response. No outlook on culture, society, or civilization remains untouched.

With crystalline prose, Starry Messenger walks us through the scientific palette that sees and paints the world differently. From insights on resolving global conflict to reminders of how precious it is to be alive, Tyson reveals, with warmth and eloquence, an array of brilliant and beautiful truths that apply to us all, informed and enlightened by knowledge of our place in the universe.

His biggest asset

He’s got brains, he’s got knowledge (hard earned)
But his greatest skill is sharing what he knows with us so we get it and enjoy it

A very positive Perspective

Neil Degrasse Tyson, gives a very positive open minded view of every day problems that we face. If we had had such a reasonable perspective ages ago the world may not be in the trouble that it is in today.

A real quality book.

I have listened to or read about all of Neil Tyson’s books. This one was the best. With all of the issues that we see or are living with today, Tyson helped put most into perspective. I especially liked the part about his selection as a possible juror, as a R&D Engineer I had similar experiences.

Don't read it if you don't like to think...

I love you, Neil deGrasse Tyson. And I'm not ashamed to say it. You make me think so far out of my teeny tiny head that it hurts. But what a delicious hurt it is. Thank you!

Inspiring and uplifting

Neil deGrasse Tyson’s narration is very captivating and immersive. I loved the book and the topics covered for many reasons and one of which is learning about the cosmic perspective and how it plays a huge role in our society yet more often than not we fail to notice it and appreciate it. After listening to this book I now have a deeper understanding of the historical and cultural backgrounds of many relevant topics to 2022 such as race, beauty, gender, and my favorite chapter of all life and death. Thank you Dr. Tyson for this beautiful masterpiece.

Mesmerizing

I enjoyed this book and learned from this book. Even more, this book left me with questions, thoughts and suppositions to pursue. In the end, I think this was the point.
